In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Medicine Department C3

The Medicine Department has 15 regular care places for general internal medicine, kidney/liver/endocrinology/heart and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as the medical mission for intoxication.

In the autumn of 2025, hematological inpatient care will be included in the department's mission.

Medicine C3 is a developing department. We are about 30 employees in the roles of nurses and nursing assistants, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist caring for patients with internal medical diseases. We have a coordinator and clinical nursing leader, as well as a coordinating nursing assistant during daytime Monday to Friday. The coordinating nursing assistant assists the nurses in the coordination planning before discharge.

We work with the patient in focus, and many of our development projects aim to strengthen person-centered care, patient safety, and good nursing within acute care.

We offer a varied assignment where there is always something new to learn. We have individualized introductions. Competence development based on the needs of the operation is self-evident.

We are an engaged and nursing-oriented workgroup striving for a workplace with a developing learning environment focused on good and safe care.

You can influence your working hours by working partially at night. Extra night compensation is provided in addition to on-call compensation according to the agreement.

Your Responsibilities

In addition to the usual tasks in an acute inpatient department, such as basic and specific nursing, medication management, and medical technical procedures, your role as a nurse also includes:

  • having a key role in the team around the patient
  • identifying and planning for the individual's specific nursing needs
  • ensuring that the individual’s nursing needs are met
  • working to involve the patient in their care
  • leading the nursing work in the care team
  • participating in development projects in the department
  • sharing knowledge and learning from others

Who are you?

You are a new or experienced registered nurse with a personal maturity that we consider a good foundation for working with people in acute care. Curiosity and the desire to develop are driving forces, and you never see yourself as fully trained.

You are relationship-building and find it important to create good relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues. Your ability to collaborate is good, and you appreciate being part of a whole. Flexibility and the ability to adapt are prerequisites in an operation where things can change quickly. You have a knack for problem-solving.

Before a hiring decision is made, a background check is conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
